Labor Day Eve

We could smell hamburgers cookin' on somebody's grill tonight nothing unusual in that, it's true almost every night these days 
there seemed to be a lot of folks out 
on the sidewalks near their houses, 
talking with neighbors, 
or speaking through open car windows 
with drivers of cars stopped right in the street
A new holiday tradition? 

My hips are tired 
I've had only 2 days "off" since all this began 
Whenever that was

But my husband was back out with me 
after being waylaid with shingles pain 
for the past couple weeks
