Tagged!
I've been tagged by plods, so I need to list five things most people don't know about me...
hmmm...
(that's hard, because I rarely shut up, so most people know WAY more about me than anyone should have to)
Here goes:
1! I went up in a Hot Air Balloon over California wine country, even though I am afraid of heights. (I LOVED it.)
2! Growing up, I had a crush on Bela Lugosi as Dracula. I didn't know he had died before I was born. (Of course, I wanted to look like Elsa Lanchester in The Bride of Frankenstein. Guess I was a little spooky!)
3! I have performed in 40 of the fifty United States. I'd LIKE to make it a full 50 sweep, but things are NOT looking too optimistic on that front (And I have also performed in DC, which I have not included in the count of 40. DC isn't a state, after all).
4! I'm allergic to carrots.
5! I'm a recovering Trekkie. Yes, after decades...I think I've kicked the habit. (I'm referring to STAR TREK, of course. The Original, The Next Generation, and Voyager, mainly. Deep Space Nine not so much, although I think the ensemble acting work in that series was fabulous)

Double-header Sunday
10K with DC Road Runners in the morning! QUITE slippery, but not too cold.
I started after all the others went by - I never can keep up, anyway! LOL!
Award winners at DCRRC Bread Run 10K get their choice of a bread loaves donated by the runners and volunteers. I didn't win one, but I BAKED gingerbread! :-)
The Howard County Striders have such great informal weekly races!
I ran the 10K, but joined in after the last runners had passed me.
I started after all the others went by - I never can keep up, anyway! LOL!

Bessie comes to stay!
This is Bessie, from Calgary, Alberta, by way of Tampa's Gasparilla Distance Classic. She (and her 2 identical sisters) was the award for the first female team-members at the Gasparilla races(http://www.tampabayrun.com/exec/gasparilla/index.cfm?publicationID=309)
in February.
My very special friend Karen (recipient of BESSIE as her RACE AWARD!)has sent Bessie to ME as a secret Santa gift in our Penguin Athlete's group (penguinathletes) Christmas gift exchange!

1. Do some Christmas gift wrapping and packing-to-mail boxes for relatives, friends, and a certain penguin who shall remain un-named in case said penguin ever happens upon this blog...
2. Clean up a bit - the house is TERRIBLE!!
3. Go through some of the Xmas stuff I bought at the sales from last year to see what we HAVE before we mistakenly go out and buy it all again...
4. Start my Xmas cards...
5. Write my Xmas letter...
6. I'm STILL not even half-way through getting those BULBS in the ground yet.

SOOOOOO....
I'll leave you all with this picture of last year's America's Christmas Tree (across from the White House in DC) while I take care of some BUSINESS! :-)
