Whoa! 

Another muggly-ugly 

humidy-goomity walk tonight! 

Duo, yes, 

and yes, I had fun

but ooky-gooky 

in this yuck 

of a dew point evening

Dedicated to Daisy, 

who has been our kitty for SIX YEARS 

as of today! 

We LOVE YOU, Daisy May!

August 8: dedicated to memory ! and memories ! and to being FINE

Gimpy little meander with my husband tonight. ~sigh~ 

 I have no idea what I did, but my left knee is feeling funky - in a bad, although mild, way - so no darting to and fro, nor fartleks, nor frivolous frolics for me. Hoping it all feels better tomorrow.

 On a happier note, it felt MUCH cooler tonight,

 really sort of pleasant!

 AND a brand new memory card came today. 

The camera read-out says I have space for 9999 fine photos.

  So I'll try to be sticking to FINE photos, and not tacky ones. Dedicated to MEMORY! and memories!

August 7: Dedicated to Cher

And the beat goes on. The beat goes on. 

Late day showers never arrived

Duo and distant, enervated traversing 

of our usual double out-and-backs route. 

I coulda (shoulda, woulda?) 

done a bit of extra rambling while in tandem
... Nah ...

I didn't feel the least inclined to do so, so I didn't. 

I stretched my distance to 2 miles, after Jamie's mile and a half.

August 6: Dedicated to stiff breezes and Solumbra sun gear

Storm predictions for this afternoon and evening had us gearing up 

like we were crossing Death Valley

for a Heat of the Day Promenade

Actually, with hats and sunglasses, 

and a stiff breeze blowing occasionally

it was more pleasant than most 

of the hellish humid dusk walks last week

August 5: Dedicated to giving oneself a break

Solo and distant 4 miles

 Sad to think that 4 miles seems like a long run to me at this point

 but it DOES

things have been "unusual" for months 

and will probably stay that way 

for quite awhile

August 4: Dedicated to the Regulars

 Calm after the Storm walk tonight

 Today in a nutshell: Dreadful tornado warning morning, 

incredible brilliant clearing, 

gradual heating up throughout the day, 

another short rainstorm at about 7,

 and then our regular route.

  Duo. Distant, with some extra junkets for me, 

plus an add-on to get my 5k in

 Saw quite a few of the Regulars making hay while the sun shined, just like we were doing.

August 3: Dedicated to Raindrops fallin' on our heads

So Tropical Storm Isaias is due

but we managed to do our usual 1.5 mile route 

(plus an extra bit since we turned back to arm ourselves with umbrellas when the rain started 

that happened almost immediately, close to home 

A couple sloshy, feet-wetting minutes

mostly just a light shower

no thunder-clapping or lightning flashing

Yay! 

Easy to be distant tonight

We saw only one runner 
(runners run in rain, of course) 

and no pedestrians. 

Or cats. 

Or dog walkers. 

Dedicated to the raindrops fallin' on our heads

cooling everything off!

August 2: Dedictated to Air Conditioning

Another stifling duo distant slow walk tonight

August first. How did that happen?

Well, we walked, duo and distant

another sweltering dusk after tacos, not sure which was hotter

Too lazy to take photos while walking and talking

I took a few quickies once we got home
