GREAT pics! Love the Wineglass shirt, the mirrored self portrait, Pedro's sign and the wall flowers. Such pretty colours - looks like a great day to race :)
okay, that does it. i want to run the lulu with my camera. i don't think the photos will be the same. it's urban. your pictures are so pretty and creative.
do you run with it in your hand the whole way or do you have a bag?
(my word verification is nexpp... which is every marathoner's question. when is the next pee pee)
I do run with a race pouch. At the beginning of races, the camera won't fit, although it's only about palm-sized, because I have gels & stuff. After I've eaten 4-5 gels, I can put the camera away. I wear it on a cord around my neck, but hold it most of the time. It does help remind me not to clench my hands while I run. (Waste of energy, but a habit I have.)
I was really tired of carrying it by about mile 18, and so I just put it away. I pulled it out maybe 2 times after that, on walk breaks (I do Galloway walk-run intervals) when I saw something I found VERY interesting/novel/picturesque.
In the final 2.2 miles, back on the roads (most of the run was on the North Central Railroad Trail), it was BEAUTIFUL. Afternoon sun filtering through trees, autumn colors, fields of grasses and horses and hay, but I was SO CLOSE to my marathon PR that I wouldn't take the time.
It was a very hilly final 2.2 miles, so I was not able to PR, but it still was my second fastest marathon of my 11. 5:06:05 chiptime. Not good at all for some folks. EXCELLENT for me. :-)
* Life is change.
** Born in New Jersey. (A Jersey Girl, but I don't know "What Exit".) I went to college in Iowa. (NOT in a cornfield, but close.) I was a New Yorker. The proverbial Struggling Actor in Manhattan, and surviving pretty well for 20-something-ish years (I *heart* New York.)
*** Now I live below the Mason-Dixon line. (But I'm born and bred a YANKEE.)
***For awhile, I was an avid-almost-rabid runner, running WITH my camera much of the time. I have been experiencing some "aging ? and other issues", but I still doggedly clod-hoppily-plod my way through events, camera usually in hand. Now I'm even SLOWER than I used to be. *** :-P ***
** I used to help socialize local humane society cats in their foster home, and take photos for the website, but my Haven kitties moved to a farm in Virginia in May 2018. ~meow~
Awaiting my next incarnation, or not....***
I still have a phondness for photography & a recurring Flickr Addiction, so go see my photos!

It was 5:05:43 CHIP time.
My current marathon PR is 5:04:32.
Wow, almost a PR! But... how many marathons do you run every year? Do I bore you if I continue to write that your pictures are always wonderful?
Congratulations! Looks like a great marathon. So many on my to do list. If you ever make it to the Pacific Northwest make sure to let us know.
Thank you, Black Knight!
NO, I NEVER get bored when accepting compliments! :-)
I ran SIX marathons this year. I have NEVER BEFORE in my entire life done such a thing!
2003 - My 1st marathon.
2004 - My 2nd marathon.
2005 - 3 marathons!
2006 - SIX marathons!!!
Whooooo-hooo! BIG stuff, for me!
Congratulations on a fabulous race! Six races in a year, without hurting yourself. What's your training secret?
I ran that race, too. it was much fun, even though I was a bit in pain towards the end.
Great you brought your camera!!!!
Hi Jeanne-
I've always loved Maryland! Been there often when I was younger. It's also not easy to find a trail race and Maryland isn't that far from NY.
Haven't checked out the BRR race calender, but I would run there anytime again:-)
