The cake tasted AMAZING! Soft, sweet, light, and that chocolate topping...
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
I changed age-groups last year, but Annapolis Striders counts your age as of Jan 1, so I ran all year as the YOUNGER a/g in their series (so I didn't struggle to complete their series. The 45-49 a/g is TOO STRONG and FAST in AS!)
Baltimore Road Runners lets you chose a/g if you switch mid-series. BUT you must DROP all the results from races before you changed a/g. You must write to them before the NEXT race after you have changed a/g to request being graded in the new division. And you must still run the minimum number of races in your NEW division. So in 2005 I blew it, slightly. I should have asked to be graded in the older group & dropped my first race (ONE WEEK before I turned 50) - I'd have been FIRST in their Grand Prix. In the younger age group, I came in THIRD. But I don't mind, I still got a plaque.
In Montgomery County Road Runners, I ran my first race on my birthday last year, so that was my a/g for the year. If my birthday had been ONE DAY LATER, I'd have come in 2nd in 45-49, but I came in 3rd in 50-54. Again, I don't mind. I was AMAZED that I placed at ALL in MCRRC! And my friend Christina got 2nd in 45-49. :-)
* Life is change.
** Born in New Jersey. (A Jersey Girl, but I don't know "What Exit".) I went to college in Iowa. (NOT in a cornfield, but close.) I was a New Yorker. The proverbial Struggling Actor in Manhattan, and surviving pretty well for 20-something-ish years (I *heart* New York.)
*** Now I live below the Mason-Dixon line. (But I'm born and bred a YANKEE.)
***For awhile, I was an avid-almost-rabid runner, running WITH my camera much of the time. I have been experiencing some "aging ? and other issues", but I still doggedly clod-hoppily-plod my way through events, camera usually in hand. Now I'm even SLOWER than I used to be. *** :-P ***
** I used to help socialize local humane society cats in their foster home, and take photos for the website, but my Haven kitties moved to a farm in Virginia in May 2018. ~meow~
Awaiting my next incarnation, or not....***
I still have a phondness for photography & a recurring Flickr Addiction, so go see my photos!
