I've got to say it: this was the easiest marathon I've ever run!
I lucked out that it was a cold spell for Florida (I have trouble with too much sun and/or too much heat). But even with a head cold, I had less trouble "keeping it going" than ever before.
Less pain, fewer twinges, and the miles just kept passing along around me. No matter that I could not read my pace band (or my watch!) in the dark. But by dawn, I was within 15 seconds of my goal pace, anyway!
Waiting for the going to get tough - blisters, muscle ache, fatigue...the onslaught of the Florida HEAT. Nope. The going NEVER got tough. I loved every single step!
And then around Mile 20-something, I came up from BEHIND the 5:30 Pace Group, and I found I could keep up with them WHEN I WAS TAKING WALK BREAKS and they were running!!!
* Life is change.
** Born in New Jersey. (A Jersey Girl, but I don't know "What Exit".) I went to college in Iowa. (NOT in a cornfield, but close.) I was a New Yorker. The proverbial Struggling Actor in Manhattan, and surviving pretty well for 20-something-ish years (I *heart* New York.)
*** Now I live below the Mason-Dixon line. (But I'm born and bred a YANKEE.)
***For awhile, I was an avid-almost-rabid runner, running WITH my camera much of the time. I have been experiencing some "aging ? and other issues", but I still doggedly clod-hoppily-plod my way through events, camera usually in hand. Now I'm even SLOWER than I used to be. *** :-P ***
** I used to help socialize local humane society cats in their foster home, and take photos for the website, but my Haven kitties moved to a farm in Virginia in May 2018. ~meow~
Awaiting my next incarnation, or not....***
I still have a phondness for photography & a recurring Flickr Addiction, so go see my photos!

So I passed 'em!!! :-D
Go, Goofy!!!
Love the pictures! (Although some of them seem to be overlapping one another? At least on my screen...)
Congrats on your race!
Awesone Pics *Jeanne*!!!!!
It is nice the picture where you are running to the "wrong way"!
I like the WRONG WAY sign. I wished at Tampa that I'd had a camera to get the hoarde of marathoners running down a street marked "DEAD END."
Those are some COOL MEDALS!!! The way to run a comfortable marathon must be to run a half the day before :-)
Hi, *jeanne* -- Happy Sunday!
And Happy BIRTHDAY! Hi :)
