It really was very pretty! I've run this same venue with Baltimore Road Runners for their Women's Distance Festival, their Valentine's Day 4-Miler and for one of their Grand Prix series races, but this is the first time the race route has gone out as far as That Dam. I'd never seen That Dam before. In fact, this race was run to celebrate the road reopening after being closed for a long period of time for Dam repairs.
They had cute That Dam Race! mugs for award winners (Not for me. I was LAST in this race. I think I'd have been last even if I had not been taking pictures, because the pack left me behind VERY early on. It was an 8-miler: 4 miles out, 4 miles back.) And they even had sleeveless race t-shirts, although mine is HUGE on me.
* Life is change.
** Born in New Jersey. (A Jersey Girl, but I don't know "What Exit".) I went to college in Iowa. (NOT in a cornfield, but close.) I was a New Yorker. The proverbial Struggling Actor in Manhattan, and surviving pretty well for 20-something-ish years (I *heart* New York.)
*** Now I live below the Mason-Dixon line. (But I'm born and bred a YANKEE.)
***For awhile, I was an avid-almost-rabid runner, running WITH my camera much of the time. I have been experiencing some "aging ? and other issues", but I still doggedly clod-hoppily-plod my way through events, camera usually in hand. Now I'm even SLOWER than I used to be. *** :-P ***
** I used to help socialize local humane society cats in their foster home, and take photos for the website, but my Haven kitties moved to a farm in Virginia in May 2018. ~meow~
Awaiting my next incarnation, or not....***
I still have a phondness for photography & a recurring Flickr Addiction, so go see my photos!

Hi Jeanne, thanks for visiting my blog and thanks for helping me to identify the plant (Liatris). :-)
Looks like great scenery for that Dam race.
Your town seems to have so many fun races!! Racing and taking pics of flowers--life is good!

take me with you
Take me with you......and the Clever executioner but please don't forget the camera!
I especially like the last one with the lens flares like success beaming down on each runner. Your blog keeps me interested in taking pictures!
Great pictures, *Jeanne*. With those legs, the runners in the last picture look fast just standing still.
