Last time I had a camera fixed, it cost $75, standard repair rate, no extras. (That was my FIRST 35mm camera, a $150-ish Nikon. It broke again almost immediately - same trouble as the first breakage - the automatic film rewinder. I never bought a Nikon again).
So right now - I have no definite plans for this little Minolta. I may do some research to find out if it is fixable, & within a reasonable $ rate. BUT it already had some over-use issues. (Like pho-JOG-grapher, like photo-capturer-gadget.)
can i take a moment to say something before you toss the first handful of dirt over the cameraorpse?
dearest Nickie, i didn't know you, but i loved your work. you and *J* made beautiful clicks together. you got me hooked on her blog and i thank you for it. (sniff). good-bye...
* Life is change.
** Born in New Jersey. (A Jersey Girl, but I don't know "What Exit".) I went to college in Iowa. (NOT in a cornfield, but close.) I was a New Yorker. The proverbial Struggling Actor in Manhattan, and surviving pretty well for 20-something-ish years (I *heart* New York.)
*** Now I live below the Mason-Dixon line. (But I'm born and bred a YANKEE.)
***For awhile, I was an avid-almost-rabid runner, running WITH my camera much of the time. I have been experiencing some "aging ? and other issues", but I still doggedly clod-hoppily-plod my way through events, camera usually in hand. Now I'm even SLOWER than I used to be. *** :-P ***
** I used to help socialize local humane society cats in their foster home, and take photos for the website, but my Haven kitties moved to a farm in Virginia in May 2018. ~meow~
Awaiting my next incarnation, or not....***
I still have a phondness for photography & a recurring Flickr Addiction, so go see my photos!

No handfuls of dirt. Family MAUSOLEUM. I'm a PACK-RAT, after all. And the camera is truly not dead yet...just in a COMA. Or a psychotic fugue state.
