Penultimate race of 2005

I began LAST, as usual, but ended 4th from the last. (Liza, of course, stopped at the turn-around and WAITED for me and the runner behind me, then she ran back carrying the CONE on her head...so I don't think that really COUNTS as being after me...(?)

The "Nutcracker" Firehouse 5K was run on Christmas Eve Day.

I think I'm doing only ONE race after this - on New Year's Eve Day - until the 2006 races begin (bright and LATER on New Year's Day)

Too much fun. How many races are you up to for the year, about 250?? :-D Nice goin'!

No, not 250! I have run in *only* 91 so far. Not counting FUN RUNS. But I think I've done only three fun runs this year. :-)

LAST!!!! ..... bite your tongue .... I believe you were the first "pho-JOG-rapher" across the line. Awesome picture of the start, do runners always lean like that, was it windy.

There was really no wind at all, and it was a mild day, too. I was very overdressed, perhaps remembering how bitter cold this particular event was last season!

But I am in taper mode for my marathon (and MORE! I'm doing Walt Disney World's Marathon and a Half "Goofy Challenge" on January 7th and 8th) so I needed to go easy, anyway. :-)

The fast runners do tend to lean as they run. I think gravity helps pull them faster as they lean into their forward momentum.

Always great pictures as usual. As photographer you are the first. Only 91 races? Shame on me I only entered 14 this year!

Remember I rarely RACE my races. I use them as training for marathons, and for social activity and fun with my running clubs. Most club races are low-key and EXTREMELY inexpensive. (Many are only $1-$2 or LESS)

Hi! jeanne,
A Happy New Year!

It was fun! Tami, the RD, brings all her excess race t-shirts and goodies from the whole year, and lets people select things as race awards and randoms.

(And I think I have done FOUR fun runs for 2005, by the way!)
